Fraction Workspace considers itself an "unexpected neighborhood storefront [that] transforms into a venue that promotes and displays installation-based artwork." Located next to famed Italian eatery, Club Lucky, and a short walk from the Damen/North/Milwaukee intersection that defines Wicker Park, Fraction Workspace is far from being in an arts district. But what's truly unexpected about the place is the quality of contemporary art that awaits you there, beyond the front door on a tree-lined, gentrified street.

But thank god for this geographically random act of art kindness. This gallery's inclusion in the West Town Gallery Network proves its contemporary art validity, as this new family of fine art hangs makes up one of the most compelling art districts in Chicago these days.
