Editorial Review of Brewbakers

If the Patrick Swayze movie "Road House" were based on real-life events, then Brewbakers would be its epicenter, complete with a wooden dance floor that's seen better days and a makeshift stage where an over-amplified blues-rock band plays covers 'til sunrise. Although it does take great pains to keep out the seedier element, this Beverly establishment proudly wears its hard-partying reputation on its sleeve. With its 4 a.m. license, Brewbakers strives to be the place where folks spilling out of other neighborhood establishments go for the real last call.

Walk past the doorman and his snazzy, fake ID-foiling gear and get ready for an unforgettable night. If you need inspiration, check out the long oak bar filled with carved proclamations of long-ago loves and memorable visits. The wide, spacious dance floor seems more than capable of handling all of that post-2 a.m. overflow (a thick coat of sawdust would only improve its appearance). Customers don't come to Brewbakers for fruity cocktails, either. Here they serve hard drinks for people who want to get drunk fast. Or, if they were at Cork & Kerry all night, remain buzzed.
