The only thing you should tow to this garage is yourself: The Spark Plug and Monkey Wrench, two of Cortland's signature martinis, are more likely to kick-start your night of boozing than repair your broken-down wheels.

A glass garage door encloses the front end of the space, formerly home to Leopard Lounge. Black and white photographs of garages hang on the exposed brick walls and wooden beams create that rugged automotive shop feeling while flat-screen TVs, a sleek cherry wood bar and Vegas-style bathrooms (white and black mosaic tiles, chandeliers and all) lend a nightclub-chic aesthetic. DJs and a jazz vocalist four nights a week get a club vibe going, and a private party room with its own bar in back ($25-$35 for unlimited drinks) offers a certain VIP appeal, with velvet red walls.

If you didn't come with the party, peruse the standard drink menu; beers range from $3-$5, but it's the martinis that set the bar apart from any average watering hole. You don't have to know anything about mechanics to order one of our $10 favorites: the Monkey Wrench (with Stoli, creme de banana and white and dark chocolate Godiva liqueurs), the Transmission (with SoCo, amaretto, peach Schnapps, orange and cranberry) or the Jump Start (with Ketel One, bloody mary mix, worchester sauce, celery salt, tabasco and jalapeno).
