Once upon a time, the Financial District was known as much for the bars surrounding it as for the Board of Trade and the Mercantile Exchange. Today, the Merc and BOT have merged into one and the bars are few and far between. One that's trying to make its mark, at least with the younger traders and other professionals that frequent it, is Franklin Tap. The owners of this classed-up sports bar have some experience catering to this crowd; they own Cactus and Martini bar as well.

Franklin Tap has all the staples of the sports bar: Golden Tee, giant plasma-screen televisions so you don't miss a single bit of action, darts and a loud, powerful stereo system to hear the game or background music. Franklin Tap offers a wide array of fine spirits for that customer looking to educate himself in the world of premium liquors, at a steep price tag of course. The food here is about what you would expect at a sports bar, although the "Almost Famous" meatloaf sandwich stands out; it'll also sit in your stomach for hours afterward.
