Decked in white couches custom-made by Orange Skin Design, this subterranean lounge recalls a poolside cabana: White linen curtains drape behind a 33-foot, pillow-strewn "bed," a supremely comfy place to kick back, and the whole scene is set in a sultry glow with blue lighting.
Guests are invited to "dine and disco" among low-slung tables and ottomans and order up small plates created by Chef Scott Donaldson (formerly of Spiaggia and May St. Market). The menu changes seasonally, but sample selections may include lamb lollipops accented with mint-filled breadsticks, homemade ravioli stuffed with pumpkin and duck confit, a selection of ceviches, pork empanadas with smoked apple salsa and a deconstructed Caesar salad. Desserts feature dressed-up classics like the Cookies and Cream, a plate of fresh-baked cookies served with sipping chocolate.
Two separate bars are appointed for champagne and martinis, and Krem's drinks are presented with sweet panache: By-the-glass champagne comes with fruit puree, and high-rollers who opt for tableside liquor are gifted with accompanying candies or desserts. At the DJ bar, guests pull up stools to witness live spinning up close.
Krem's back room, Platinum Whiskey Lounge, has a rock vibe, complete with skulls, whiskey collection and cans of Hamms.
