"You've hit rock bottom," as they like to say at the Rock Bottom Brewery. Well it may be rock bottom but at least it's not the bottom of the barrel. The brewery not only handcrafts its own beer, but good beer to boot. This is the kind of place you go after a hard day's work at the office, to unwind, have a beer and check out the singles scene. Part of a chain of brew pubs that originated in Boulder, Colorado, Rock Bottom serves up good food (think ribs and chicken), a variety of microbrews and, in the summer, a third floor rooftop deck complete with a bar that has five beers on tap.
The view of the Chicago skyline is an added bonus, but it's not a well-kept secret; show up early as it gets pretty crowded pretty quick. The atmosphere and decor gives a pretty corporate impression, and the clientele is young and upwardly mobile. However, if you're just looking for a reasonably priced place to eat, drink and be merry, you could do worse than hitting the Rock Bottom.
