Additional info: Participants can sign up the 'day of' for most tours, though select tours will be available online for $3 beginning at noon on April 29 until 5 p.m. on May 9. Tours include the Trump Tower, the Spertus Museum, the "Gay by Design" tour (featuring the Center on Halsted and Sidetrack), jogging tours, boat tours, rooftop garden tours and more. There are also specially designed tours for kinds, including a treasure hunt and LEGO building activities.
As a prelude to the weekend, "Great Conversations" will feature Paul Goldberger, the architecture critic for The New Yorker (6 p.m. May 15 at Harold Washington Public Library). There will also be five weeks of "Conversations Within Communities" throughout the city (April 16-May 14). See the website for more details.
