| 1918 - Chicago's historian-about-town, Emmett Dedmon, moved here from Nebraska to attend college at the University of Chicago. He was an editor, columnist, and critic for the tabloid Chicago Times and Marshall Field III's Chicago Sun, and stuck with the papers after they merged in 1947. He was the director and chief historian of the Chicago Club and a trustee of the Chicago Historical Society. Works: |
