| 1869 - 1944 Hutchins Hapgood was a journalist and novelist born in Chicago. He made his home in Chicago and Alton, Illinois. He and his wife collaborated on a novel, "Enemies," published in 1916. Works: - The Spirit of the Ghetto, 1902
