A few metalheads and some young Latin ladies walk into a bar. This isn't the start of some bad joke; it's actually a believable premise on any given night at Nite Cap Lounge, where the crowd is as eclectic as the music. Not that it's always a multi-cultural celebration. Ladies Night brings in a largely Latin crowd for $4 drink specials on Thursdays, while on Fridays and Saturdays, hard rockers pay a $7 to $15 cover to listen to local and touring bands like War Pigs.
The grungy vibe here matches that of places like Betty's Blue Star Lounge and The Note; the crowd cares little about following trends, actually preferring the scruff. A long bar runs the room, stopping where two youngsters with fitted hats on their heads play a game of pool. A second, oval-shaped bar holds down the stage area.
Celebrate a bachelor party here for only $50 per person, which includes drinks ($100 if the bar provides strippers). Plenty of street parking eliminates any worries of tickets and towing. Additional free parking is available a block east in the bank's lot.
