| Short-lived soul-jazz sextet -- which includes prominent locals Ari Brown and Ken Chaney -- has gotten back together (reawakens) after nearly a quarter century to headline the 1998 Chicago Jazz Festival. They recorded two albums during the early 1970s for the Black Jazz label. Other members include trumpeter Frank Gordon, bassist Reggie Willis, drummer Arlington Davis Jr. and trombonist Steve Galloway.
