Chali 2na

Chali 2na, born Charlie Stewart, made a name for himself performing with the supergroup Jurassic 5, but before he'd built a life on Chicago's South Side long before moving to California. 2na often credits Chicago for laying down a solid foundation for his appreciation of hip-hop, and when he moved to California, he took that passion for music and instantly connected with Lucas McFadden, aka Cut Chemist. The two eventually formed the group Unity Committee, and performed weekly at the Good Life Cafe. After the group dissipated, 2na and Chemist formed J5, which helped revive the nostalgic side of hip-hop. 2na was the standout of the group and his various collaborations added to his popularity. In 2004, 2na released a mix tape titled "Welcome to the Fish Market", and many fans were left anticipating his first full-length solo album, which has been pushed back several times. 2na has done a lot to spread his fan base, including touring with New Orleans funk band Galactic.
