| One of the most dynamic young classical musicians of this generation, cellist Christopher Costanza came to national prominence in winning the 1986 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York, and in 1993 as the recipient of a Solo Recittalists Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Washington Post says "Costanza unveiled a fully mature technical and expressive range that can't help but place him in the most elite ranks." The New York Times agrees, calling Costanza "An excellent young cellist with fleet fingers and an unflinching deep-in-the-strings way of producing sound." Costanza is a member of the Chicago Chamber Musicians and the acclaimed Chicago String Quartet, as well as Associate Professor of Cello and Coordinator of Strings at DePaul University. Costanza studied with Laurence Lesser, Bernard Greenhouse, and David Wells at Boston's New England Conservatory of Music.
