| Evanston Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra currently approaching their 60th anniversary season. The Music Director is Lawrence Eckerling. It performs 5 concerts during the academic year at either Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, Northwestern University, or Evanston Township High School. Players and audience come from round the north shore area. The Evanston Symphony Orchestra has outreach programs to middle schools in Evanston and Skokie and also to all retirement homes in the area. The orchestra has won numerous awards including Community Orchestra of the Year, 2003 from the Illinois Council of Orchestras.
