Fat Nut

Longtime Chicago group disbanded, and three members formed another group, Aljala.

5-man Chicago band which had been playing together since 1993 performed a number of the midwest's premier venues. Members include Ray Ekberg, Kitty Boulais, guitarist Lorn Allison, steel drummer Stewy (don't know the last name) and drummer Barret Harvey, all of whom have studied and played classical and jazz.

As a group though, the music fits more closely into the pop/rock - jazz framework. The energetic rhythm section and guitars are tight. You can hear their first CD Organically Grown on Acme Entertainment, Inc.

In 2004, the band regrouped and played two shows around Chicago. One of which was performing at the Taste of Chicago in July 2004 and the second a week later at the Double Door with the Digable Cat.
