| Champaign rockers signed to RCA during the era when mammoth guitar rock bands roamed the earth. The single "Stars" from their debut major-label disc You'd Prefer an Astronaut got significant pop/alternative radio play, and the CD sold 250,000+ copies in the US. Now that most of these bands have become extinct, Hum has become something of an anachronism. Their long-awaited follow-up, Heaven is Downward, is good stuff, too.
