| Considered by many the king of blues harmonica, Walter was the first to amplify the instrument. Actually the first musician of any kind to purposely use electronic distortion (the same sort of thing that Jimi Hendrix revolutionized rock'n'roll). He also was a creative genius, one of the most emotional of bluesmen. Arrived in Chicago (from rural Louisiana) at the end of WWII, and recorded his first record in 1947 at the age of 17. Soon thereafter he joined the band of Muddy Waters. Releases include The Best of Little Walter (Chess Records).
