| In a city where solo acoustic performers are a dime-a-dozen, Miga's arrangements and lyrics are a cut above the ordinary. A product of the Purdue University music program, the 27-year-old Chicago native started playing coffeehouses in 1996. Fueled by an emotive brand of root-rock acoustic guitar (part CSN, part Seal), Miga moved up the ranks of Chicago venues in the next two years, playing gigs at the likes of Schubas, Double Door, Beat Kitchen and the Hideout. (December, 1998)
