| Comprised primarily of members of the hard rock underground legend, Aftermath (who lost a notable court case with millionaire rapper Dr. Dre over the ownership of the name -- Dre first offered the band $50,000 for the name, then went ahead and used it anyway). Luckily, the Chicago-based Mother God Moviestar signed in the summer of '97 with Interscope Records and Zoid Recordings (during the suit's negotations, they met a lot of Interscope execs, who liked their new album). Their debut self-titled album, released in March 1998, consists of a brooding blend of electronica and metal, considerably subtler than Aftermath's brutal metal underground sound. One could say that it's a darker, heavier Pink Floyd. Members include songwriter/vocalist/muse Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis, DJ Delta 9, guitarist John Lovette, bassist Chris Waldron, drummer Ray Schmitt, and vocalist Roxanne (no last name).
