| Back during the early 1980s, Out Of Order was one of the biggest groups in the city's thriving punk scene. When, towards the middle of the decade, the scene (and most of the DIY-type venues) closed down, the group was trapped -- their van broke down so they couldn't tour, and the city's primary remaining counterculture venue -- Metro -- banned punk shows after an episode of post-show skinhead violence. The group hung on for a few years, trying to adapt to a tamer setting, but shouter (he never did sing, really) Devon Brock moved to South Dakota to become a writer. They recently released a 25-song CD, Survival of the Fittest (Victory), which includes some live tracks as well as a whole previously unreleased album, Walkthrufyre album. Despite pulling a thrash punk bait-and-switch on Metro in 1988, they were invited back 10 years later for a one-time-only all-ages show.
