| Perry started playing clarinet at 8 years old, but quickly switched to guitar lessons after hearing the Beatles. Shortly after, he formed his first band in grade school and later the obligatory pimply garage bands through adolescence and high school. After a several year hiatus, Perry has recently played and recorded with a few local rock and blues bands in Chicago, northern Illinois and south-eastern Wisconsin. Needing a new musical fix and direction, Perry decided to start a new band and has made the transition to playing more jazz oriented and progressive style guitar with his new project Zip Tang.
