| A Chicago band (formerly called Glome) founded by Ex-Phenomenal Cat, Ex-Mant, Ex-Food member Derek Wu. Derek performs on his bass at open mics around town, and is often introduced by MCs as "the Master of the Low End." Not surprisingly, distorted bass features prominently in Recent Photo's sound, and so too does a strong catalog of songs, including a "hit" from the open mic circuit, "Too Odd to be a Star." A songwriter first and bassist second (and cellist third), Mr. Wu counts among his songwriting influences such luminaries as Big Star, the Beatles, the Kinks, the Hollies, Wire, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Radiohead, Joy Division, the Replacements, King Crimson, and many others. The band currently features Brad Eakins on drums.
