| Born and raised in Chicago, Stacy Kidd has always been into music every since he can remember. Growing up, Stacy was influenced by an array of music icons such as, Joe Sample, Earl Klugh, Stevie Wonder, Steve "Silk" Hurley, and Paul Johnson, just to name a few. The greatest of these influences is Stevie Wonder, whom Kidd says, "There would be no Stacy Kidd without Stevie Wonder." Kidd has been DJing since 1987 and producing since 1989. Stacy began releasing records in 1994.
