The Red Plastic Buddha are a new psychedelic pop band from Chicago. Signed to Spade Kitty Records in 2007, they released their first CD, Sunflower Sessions in late September.
Enthusiastic early reviews have said they sound 'Like a Peter Max painting come to life'. The Red Plastic Buddha are a six-piece unit that blends guitars, effects, keyboards and waves of vocal harmony into an every changing wall of melody.
The Red Plastic Buddha have filmed two videos, one currently available on YouTube and the second is currently in post-productions.
The Buddhas have been compared to early Pink Floyd, 13th Floor Elevators, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Seeds, Jefferson Airplane and the Zombies.
