Editorial Review of Evergreen

Evergreen's doors open into a large, square dining room laden with white tablecloths. The tables on the outskirts of the room are round, sporting lazy Susans, perfect for large groups or for family-style dining.

Once you've been seated, a server will bring hot tea and two extensive menus. The first menu lists the restaurant's main dishes, at prices ranging from $4.95-$70, and the choices are endless. There is certainly something enticing about ordering the shark fin with crab meat soup, even at $50 a cup.

The second menu offers a list of specials, and rivals the first in both number and selection. If you're adventurous, try the braised duck with black mushrooms and mixed vegetables or the fried milk and pork loin Peking-style. If you're interested in a more American-Chinese cuisine, go for the orange peel or cashew chicken dishes.

Evergreen is definitely a meat-heavy restaurant, though there are vegetarian options. The restaurant also offers combination platters for two to six people, starting at $33.50 and capping at $93.50. Some dishes are expensive, but there are lower-priced entrees. Any way you go, you'll probably be bringing some food home.
