Description of Haussmann Brasserie

From the fairway to the dinner plate, world renowned chef Jacky Pluton has always merged his love for sport and cuisine, especially his love for classy French cuisine. And the tradition continues with his Northfield Haussman Brasserie, where a Parisian passion highlights an exquisitely disguised American menu and as you dine in the elegant dining decor with chef Thomas Rice leading the ranks in the kitchen.

The seating mixes tables and booths in a open area that's flanked by a full bar, making it a more upscale experience that follows suit with Pluton’s other North Shore Evanston spot, Jacky's Bistro.

Appetizers, such as the classic French onion soup, remain solely French in flavor and priced at $6.50 — while the steak or moulles fritters are in the $20 range and are the first taste of Pluton’s American-Parisian blended flair.

Though it's open for lunch during the week with some lighter menu options, it's the dinner entrees that make your eyes pop at the size and portion, with the fish baked in terra cotta ($52) or whole chicken ($38). Tossing a bit of French inspired American film making, Pulp Fiction enters into the menu with the Royale with Cheese ($14), a whopper of a burger that will sit nicely and certainly please more than just the Vincent Vegas of French-inspired American dining.

And if your belly has any real estate left to pack in dessert, the sweetly savory panna cotta or Jacky's Childhood Tiramisu both are sure ways to indulge your delectable side.
