The last time we saw a traditional Commedia Del Arte show ("The Light of Love" from Promethean Theatre), we thought we'd hate it. Why would modern Chicagoans watch a centuries-old, highly stylized version of long-form improv based on Italian stock characters? Answer: because it's still inexplicably funny. The Piccolo's entry into the genre, guided by Commedia expert and actual Italian Maestro Antonio Fava, features some of the cast members from the Promethean show, and should be a fun, weird time.
