| Pretty hip, pretty new production and post-production company that unfortunately had to close their Wicker Park doors. Aiming to be the Shooting-Gallery of the Midwest, Brand X make a pretty big impact on the Chicago film scene during its 3 year stint. Recently, its members edited the feature film, 35 Miles From Normal, the only Chicago film accepted into the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. But their goal to consistently cut deals for indie filmmakers lead them into financial trouble. Now, Brand X is downsizing and refocusing. They've cut their staff in half and they plan to only work on indies rather than their former corporate clientele. Furthermore, co-owner John Hundrieser hopes to re-open a production facility on his 25 acre farm in McHenry County and the group plans to keep all their equipment to use personally or to rent to other filmmakers.
