| Harvey, IL-raised director of acclaimed "NYPD Blue" is now recognized -- after more than two decades directing everything from music videos to off-broadway musicals, as one of America's foremost black directors. The Harvard graduate (B.A. in English, 1979) recently won a directing Emmy for his work on "NYPD Blue."
