| Robin Stanton’s critically acclaimed production of Permanent Collection at Aurora Theatre Company was recently named “Best of 2006: Top 10 Play” by the Oakland Tribune & Contra Costa Times. San Francisco Bay Area hits also include Tuesdays With Morrie at Center Rep, LovePlay for TheatreFirst, Ghost Festival at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts’ Forum, and ‘ART’ at San Francisco Playhouse. With extensive experience in new play development, Ms. Stanton served on staff at Aurora Theatre Company helping to launch The Global Age Project and directing Amy Freed’s commissioned staged reading of Untitled. She currently serves as Program Director for Solano College’s Youth Theatre producing major musicals for Solano County’s flagship children’s theatre. Prior to relocating to San Francisco, Ms. Stanton served as Producing Artistic Director of Spokane InterPlayers Ensemble in Washington where she directed Watch On The Rhine, Anton In Show Business, God’s Man In Texas, Wings, Dinner With Friends, Three Days Of Rain and Ah! Wilderness. In Chicago, Ms. Stanton directed Detail Of A Larger Work for Steppenwolf Theatre Company where she was named as a director for the New Plays Lab in 1998. She was honored with a Jeff Citation and After Dark Award for her direction of the world premiere of Rebecca Gilman’s The Glory of Living at Circle Theatre. She also directed the Joseph Jefferson award-winning productions of Ballad Hunter and The Angels of Lemnos for Chicago Dramatists, for which she received a Jeff Award Nomination. Ms. Stanton was also nominated for a Jeff Citation for her direction of The Waiting Room at Stage Left Theatre and directed the long-running Chicago hit And Neither Have I Wings to Fly. She was named a National Endowment for the Arts Directors' Fellowship Finalist, and received Theatre Three's Award for Achievement and Dedication to the Arts.
